There are artists who play music, and there are artists who invent a language.
Pianist and composer Dina Kitrossky belongs to the latter. With her personal, intriguing, and daring musical world, she connects ancient tradition with contemporary innovation. Dina takes the piano and, through the use of maqam, rich harmonies, and quarter tones, infuses it with the soul and depth of the East. Dina creates in the shared space between East and West, embracing the freedom of improvisation found in both jazz and maqam, always striving for tarab and spiritual elevation.
